There are so many songs out there about long-distance relationships that are sad, and angsty, talking about how much it sucks. This is a song I wrote about a long-distance relationship of my own that I wanted to be playful, hopeful, optimistic...because that's how I feel in it. I know there are other long-distance couples who feel the same, so I wanted to give them that sense of positivity as well. This song to me is about the 21st century, unconventional couple...that couple that's so crazy about each other that all the superficial stuff that society tells us matters just doesn't. It's about the couple that would travel across the world to be with each other. It's a statement about love, because really? That's what love is to me.
lyrics
Been looking through all your pictures for a while
Texted till midnight again, I smile
A whole ocean keeps us apart, that's what they say
But I've got a list that needs answers for someday
How your lips feel pressed against me
How you play with my hair, ohhh
How you feel wrapped around me
Or just how there's
So much that I don't know yet
One night
We won't have to hang up when we're going to bed
But just, for now
My love for you will cover the miles
They say I'm crazy for trying, too good to be true
I walk through crowds full of strangers, wanting you
You've got big plans for our future, made your list
But I've got ideas for the first part, it starts like this
You put your kiss all over
Start to play with my hair, ohhh
Then you stay wrapped around me
We talk about
All that's gonna come next
One night
We won't have to hang up when we're going to bed
But just, for now
My love for you will cover the miles
They say it's hard
But I'm stuck on you baby, I'm stuck on you baby
They say it's hard
But I'm stuck on you baby, I'm stuck on you baby
One night
We won't have to hang up when we're going to bed
But just, for now
My love for you will cover the miles
One night
We won't have to hang up when we're going to bed
But just, for now
My love for you will cover the miles
